PB&PA Unit #22 - Community Works

Holiday Cop Shop
Each December, members of Unit #22 volunteer a day to take a needy child shopping at the Target store in Normal. Children are selected from suggestions from the community. Many would likely not receive gifts for the holiday season if not for our donations. Each child is allowed $100 to spend on whatever they like! Most children shop for parents and siblings before shopping for themselves. After shopping, officers and children celebrate with a pizza party at Tobin's Pizza!

Thanksgiving Baskets
Unit #22 is dedicated to our community, and every year our members show proof with our Thanksgiving Basket donations. Each November we donate dozens of Thanksgiving dinners to needy families throughout the Normal and Bloomington communities!

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of McLean County
Several members of the Unit volunteer their time as a Big Brother or Big Sister for youth in our community. Also, Unit #22 donates annually to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake.

Illinois Special Olympics
The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run is an important event for many of our members. Unit #22 donates and participates in the Run each year, bringing in the torch from the east side of Illinois to support Illinois Special Olympics.

American Cancer Society / Relay For Life
For the past several years, the Unit has donated our time as armed security to the McLean County Relay For Life fundraiser.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Members participate in the Moustache March every year to raise money for childrens' cancer research, as well as other fundraisers with funds donated to St. Jude.

American Junior Baseball
Unit 22 has proudly sponsored several American Junior Baseball teams over the years. We congratulate the 2010 team on a great season!
